Climate Change and Your Health

Climate change isn’t just bad our environment. It’s also bad for our health. Extreme weather, rising temperatures, and rising sea levels threaten the safety of clean air and water in communities around the world. Not everyone is equally at risk – certain communities will face the burden of climate change. Join the WNY Children’s Environmental Health Center in this workshop to learn more about the health implications of climate change and ways to take action in your community.

The Western New York Youth Climate Action Summit was held on Saturday, June 1st at Buffalo State College. Lissette Palestro, Coordinator of the WNY Children’s Environmental Health Center, hosted a Climate Change and Your Health workshop for over 40 WNY student leaders. During this interactive workshop, student leaders learned about climate change, health, and equity. Student leaders applied what they learned and created posters to help make people consider climate change a serious issue.
