Western New York Children’s Environmental Health Center

The Buffalo CEHC is dedicated to promoting initiatives focusing on pediatric environmental health in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming counties. Much of the information provided by this site focuses on indoor environmental hazards such as mold, bed bugs, and ensuring cleanliness in public spaces. This site also provides guidance on local outdoor environmental hazards, such as poisonous plants and ingesting locally caught fish safely. The Medical Director at this site has 30 years of experience providing case management to children with elevated blood lead levels.

NYS CEHC trains healthcare professionals and trainees to incorporate environmental health into routine health care.
Together with partners, we educate families and communities about environmental health.
