The Albany Children’s Environmental Health Center is a rapidly expanding pediatric environmental health program within NYSCHECK.

The center is run in conjunction with Albany Medical Center, covering the NY counties of Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington.

The Albany center has a number of goals: providing quality consultation and guidance services, education and training, public health marketing, clinical and evaluative services, and partnerships. This site specializes in asthma and asthma-related environmental issues. Albany CEHC works closely with their partners, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), the New York State Department of Health (DOH), Clean & Healthy New York, and the Asthma Coalition of the Capital Region in order to improve the quality of medical care for patients with asthma and reduce the burden of environmental triggers. The center’s asthma initiatives align with those of the NYS DOH Asthma Quality Improvement Collaborative (AQIC).
